The Deep Pit

The deep pit is a 12 acre lake situated in yorkshire, we cant say much more than that. Locally it has a reputation of being a tough water, but the rewards can be massive. Here are our experiences from our time spent on the deep pit.

Big Beds Of Bait

We set about the Deep Pit in an aggressive manner, heavy baiting at range with a good helping of deep sea amino was getting us in amoungst the fish on most sessions. Our hookbaits were either match the hatch deep sea amino or snowmen with a bright topper, but i would say 90% of these fish came out to match the hatch bottom baits.

A teamers galore.

After bagging a few of the smaller residents it was only a matter of time before some of the big guns showed up. First blood came to our customer Jay with a fish called Quattro weighing 32lbs on the nose.

Quattro @ 32lbs

I got a call off Jay at 6am with the welcome news that he had quattro in the sling. I told Jay that we would be round shortly, to take some photos of the first A teamer in the deep pit, to fall to our deep sea amino baits.

Applescale @ 33lbs 13oz

I was getting the camera equipment together ready to head over to Jay for some carpy shots when my left hand rod ripped off. After a short battle my target fish applescale slipped in to my landing net at 33lbs 13oz.

The Two Tone Common @28lbs 1oz

The two tone common, what an amazing carp and another A teamer falling to our deep sea amino steamed baits.

Quattro out 3 times in 3 weeks

After the capture of Quattro he came out another 2 times in the following 3 weeks. All 3 captures were on Carpdork products.

Second capture of Applescale @32lbs 13oz

After having multiple back up fish up to 29lbs ock managed Applescale for the second time in 2 weeks. Again falling to deep sea amino.
